Update :)

I figured that it is about time for an update. There have been a lot of things going on over the past few weeks and I feel bad becasue I havn't wrote about any of it so, I am going to try my best to catch you up. The last time I wrote I was nervous about my next doctors appointment and looking forward to our first birthing class. Since then I have had two doctors appointments. The first one I gained no weight!!! I was so excited because as many of you know my doctors have really stressed me out about my weight gain. Well the excitement was short lived because at my next doctors appointment which was last week I gained five :(. However, the doctor said that my ankles were swollen and my stumach was feeling really icky and bloated so that could have contributed to a lot of it. He told me to watch my sodium intake and drink a little more water (as if eight glasses a day wasn't enough already) and see if that helps with the swelling.

We are now finished with all of our birthing classes and to be honest I did not really learn a lot (because I have already done a lot of reading about the subject) which was a little disappointing but Andrew did so that I believe was worth it. The first class we went over the types of things that we may have been feeling, the signs of pre-term labor, and went over some relaxation and breathing techniques. The second class, we watched a movie about what happens during birth and our instructor showed us some different things we should pack for the hospital, and discussed some things that may need to be used during labor such as a vaccuum extractor or forceps. The third class we watched a video on c-sections and discussed the reasons for c-sections such as the baby being breech or what not. My favorite part was the tour of the hospital. I am very much a visual person and it helps me to see how things are going to work when Everett finally decides to make his debute. We started with where you would go in and went to the check-in where the nurses will observe me and decide whether I can stay or not. After that we went into one of the delivery rooms and she showed us a lot of the equiptment that was going to be used. After that we went and looked at the nursery (sweet babies!!) and went to a post-delievery room. Finally she showed us the OR and some of the neonatal units just in case. It really made me feel a lot better to see everything and know how it was going to work.

Another things that has recently happened is I had my first baby shower!!!! It was in Macon at my house given by four of the greatest friends a girl could ask for! Here is a picture of the four of us

There were a bunch of people there and we ate some yummy food and played some funny games. They measured my belly and had people estimate my size. It was really interesting how big people really thought I was to say the least! Here is a picture of the super cute cupcakes Becca and Jamie made (they are whales!!)
I also got some really great stuff for Everett! He got a lot of clothes (my boy is going to be very well dressed!), a boppy, a sleeper to put in his crib, and a bath seat. And that is only some of it! Thanks for the wonderful shower guys! Here is a picture of me and my prego firend Jen looking huge at the shower :)
Finally, Andrew and I went and had a 3D/4D ultrasound done. I was getting so cuious/nervous about what Everett was going to look like so I said why not? My little boy proved himself to be quite stubborn! First of all at my previous doctor's appointment the doctor said Everett was head's down. Well on Satuday Everett was breech with his head up :(. But it is ok because he still has time to turn. He also had not only his hands infront of his face but his feet too and was refusing to move them! The girl spent probably a good fifteen to twenty minutes trying to get him to move and finally he did! We got some really good pictures of him! He smiled for us a few times, opened his eyes, and yawned. He also apprears to have my nose and my lips. However, I have been told he has Andrew's smile! Here is a couple pictures of him

Well that is all for now!! I will try to post again soon!

The COOLEST!!!

So I am trying to be better about posting on here it has just become a little difficult with school and everything. I have been so tired!!! Anyway, This week I believe it was on Monday I was laying down on the couch (which is my usual spot since I have gotten pregnant) and I had my hand on my belly and all of a sudden I felt something pointy rub back and forth against my fingers!!! I believe it was a little baby heel..It was soooooo cool! Since then he has been doing it even more. Sometimes it is hard to tell what exactly it is because I am not sure where he is at I am sure that most of it though is either his legs or his bottom. This morning Andrew got to feel it too! This time I am pretty sure it was his bottom because while he was doing it I could feel him pushing up on my stomach and the area where he was pushing up was a little too big to be anything other than a bottom. So as you can see I am really enjoying this new development in my pregnancy! I have not been able to actually see it because I am laying down most of the time and it is getting harder and harder to see over my belly but I am sure I will get to see it soon.

In other news, Andrew and I have our first child birthing class on Monday! I am really excited and nervous all at the same time because I am not exactly sure what to expect I know they will be showing us a video of a birth and I am interested to see how Andrew reacts to it. I also have my first every two week doctor's appointment on Tuesday so this is going to be a bust week! Please say a little prayer for me that it goes well! I have been really stressed about my weight because I am gaining more than I am suppose to even with me eating healthy and exercising :(. So every time I go in I have to explain myself to the doctors and I am getting kind of tired of it. So I am not expecting a miracle this time when it comes to my weight gain this time but a little bit of a slow down would be nice!! But I guess I will have to wait and see. Anyway, just be thinking about me on Tuesday around 4:00!!!

Nursery Progress

We have been working really hard to get the nursery ready for Everett's arrival in December. We still have A LOT more work to do but I am starting to feel good about what we have done. We have gotten the crib put together, the room painted, and today I cleaned out the closet, put the diapers I have bought so far up, put the things we do not need quite yet in the attic, put the mobile up in the crib, and Andrew got the valences hung on the windows! Oh and we also ordered and put together the rocking chair for the room! Here is a few pictures

Well that is it for now! Here is a new picture of my belly progress. Andrew took it for me tonight. I am getting quite large :)

Time Flies!

Wow I have not been good about updating here lately! I recently started back to school (I am a first grade teacher for those of you who do not know). I have been having a hard time dealing with being pregnant and with teaching. I remember always being tired at the beginning of the year but I am just so tired now and it is not just at the end of the day it is throughout the day. I find myself having to take breaks and sit down rather being up getting things done like I really want to be doing. I am also not as independent as I am use to being which is a little hard for me to deal with cause I am stubborn and I want to do it myself. Things like not being able to bend over and pick things up or tie my kids students shoes which are things you don't really think about until you can't do them anymore.

Everett has been moving a lot more here lately. He was starting to worry me because he only seemed to move around nine or ten at night when I was laying down. But, now it seems like every time I sit down for a few minutes he starts moving. I am loving feeling and seeing him move in my belly and so is Andrew. The other day I read online that you should be able to hear his heartbeat around this time through my stomach so Andrew and I decided to try it out. We laid there for awhile so Andrew could listen (mainly because Everett kept kicking Andrew in the head!!) but after some time Andrew was able to hear it! He said it was faint and you had to listen for it but you could really hear it. I was so excited to know that Andrew had something that he could do with Everett that I can't (since I get to experience so much).

My belly just seems to be getting bigger and bigger which I am ok with because that means I am closer to meeting our little boy. Andrew pointed out to me that we have 3 months left or 15 weeks as some might say and I just could not believe it. It seems like yesterday we found out we were expecting our little bundle. I cannot wait to start getting all of the baby stuff we need and getting his nursery all finished. But, for right now I am just enjoying the time that I get to spend with him all to myself and the planning. Cause pretty soon he will not be all mine anymore!

Talk to you soon!

Painting the nursey

Andrew and I decided to paint the nursery this weekend! I was really excited to get started. Of course, Andrew had to research everything about painting before we even got started (for those of you who know my husband, you know this is something he does A LOT!). Once he decided that he knew everything there was to know about painting we went to Lowe's and picked up our painting supplies. An hour and a half later we finally got home and were able to get started!
Here is a picture of the room before we started
Andrew, having researched how to paint rooms decided we needed to clean the room before hand which meant wiping down all of the walls with soap and water. Which I normally wouldn't mind but it is a whole other story when you are pregnant! We finally got done cleaning and taped off the room with painters' tape then went straight to the primer (due to the walls being so dark). By the time we finished that I was pooped. Luckily Becca showed up and was able to take up the slack (thanks Becca!). After the primer dried we went on to paint the room. It turned out really well and we only had to go over the top of the room the next day and where we had peeled some of the painters' tape off. Today we went back with a razor blade and peeled off the tape at the very top. I think it looks really good if I do say so myself! But I could be a little partial. Here are some more pictures of us painting the room and the finished product.

Oh and here is a new belly picture of me from this week. I do have to say thought I am just getting bigger and bigger!

20 week doctors appointment!

Seeing as how my appointment was a week ago I thought that I probably should post and let everyone know how it went. My friend Becca went to the doctor with me because Andrew was not able to come and I did not feel like getting that "awww your here for your sonogram by yourself" face. I expected this appointment to take about the same time as the rest of my appointments but it was honestly right up there with my four hour first appointment there. We wound up being there for a little over two hours and boy were we hungry! They brought us back for the sonogram and she asked me if I already know the sex of the baby and I told her yes. It was funny because it seems like as soon as she put the sonogram thingy on my tummy she said "oh yeah he is definitely a boy" which I thought was really funny! As the sonogram continued Everett seemed to be sleeping. Most people drink some caffine before going in but we didn't have any in the house so she had to spend a little time trying to wake him up. Becca and I were laughing and joking about how he was already exhibiting the personality of his father because he would either turn the other way when she was trying to get his measurements or cover his face with his hands. He was being just a little bit stubborn! :) When the ultrasound tech got finished with her measurements she said that Everett was 10 ounces but he was not measuring 20 weeks quite yet. Here are some pics from the ultrasound!
After we got done with the ultrasound they weighed me and took my bloos pressure and then sent me to wait for the mid wife with Becca. About 10 minutes later they called us back to the room and there we sat for probably about 40 minutes. She finally came in and began to explain to us what it is that she does in the delivery room and what it means to be a mid wife. After that we discussed how I was considering not having an epidural. Any time you discuss with someone about not having an epidural they look at you like you are completely crazy. But, the truth is I am terrified of having a needle stuck in my back for the duration of my labor and I am also freaked out that some people complain about their backs hurting years after having an epidural. But here is the thing. I know that I can sometimes be a whimp so I am not sure if I am going to go fully natural but I am going to give it a try. As of right now I am thinking that I will go as far as I can and then if the pain is too much I will take some from of narcotics rather than having an epidural. Anyway, that is all for now! I am going to register with my mom this weekend! I am really excited about it!

Picking out paint colors!

On Saturday Andrew and I went out to try and find a dresser for Everett's room and to look at paint colors. I have looked all over the place for a dresser on the Internet including craigslist.org and have had no luck! Either I was going to have to buy a dresser that was cheep and refinish it (or should I say Andrew refinish it) or buy a dresser that is $400 and still have to refinish it! I was starting to get a little frustrated. So we decided to try our luck at the stores in Macon. We went to Rooms to go found nothing there, then we went to Burlington Coat Factory (we had heard from someone that they had a lot of furniture) we found some nice pieces but again they were $400 and we were going to have to refinish it, finally we went to a place called the Macon Transfer Company. The Macon Transfer Company apparently started many years ago when trains would drop off their unneeded items there and so they began selling it. This place was super cool! They had anything from antiques to toys to regular furniture and at a great price! Andrew and I looked around and finally ran across the dresser! The colors are not exact but they are really close, the dresser looks really nice, and it was only $200!!! I may put new knobs on but I haven't decided yet. Here is a picture
After we were done we went to Lowes to look at paint colors. We found a bunch of different yellows that may work so I took home some samples to compare to the wall decorations we have to pick out the perfect one. I asked some opinions from others about which one they liked more and we eventually wound up choosing "pecan cream"
Everett has been kicking a lot this week. I try to bother him to make him do it when I want but he seems to be a little stubborn and will only do it every once in awhile. Andrew hasn't felt him move yet but I am hoping it will not be much longer. I know he can't wait! The other night he was kicking so hard I thought he was going to hit a nerve or something! Our twenty week appointment is on Friday! I cannot wait cause that means I get to see my little boy again and see how much he has grown! I will let you know how it goes. I realized I haven't posted a belly pick in awhile so here is a new one for you! I am definitely starting to get a bit of a bump!

Making a little more progress

On Sunday Me, Andrew, and Becca went to Babies-r-us to check out bedding sets for Everett's room. We have had some trouble finding something that we both liked so I thought maybe it would be easier to decide if we were actually there looking at it in person. Becca and I got there and Andrew wasn't there yet so it gave me an opportunity to look around at some of the strollers and such and get an idea of what I like before he got there. I found a stroller that I really liked and of course it had a matching swing and bouncy seat to go with it! But I looked it up on the Internet yesterday and the stroller hasn't been getting good ratings. They have been saying the car seat that goes with it is too heavy. So I may have to look into another one. I love the Internet! It keeps you from buying stuff that isn't any good.

Anyway, Andrew finally got there and we went and looked at some of the chairs cause I had been having some trouble finding one that I liked. I sat in a bunch until I finally found one I liked. Andrew is a little concerned about the price. But I explained to him that this chair should be around for awhile and if all goes well should be used with all of our children. So it is more like an investment :) (he is still thinking about it). After we looked at chairs we started looking at bedding. Andrew, of course wanted the sports sets and I may have thought about it but all of them are such dark masculine colors. Anyway I was immediately drawn to the one we decided on which I thought was weird cause I had ruled it out when I was looking at it on the Internet. Andrew was a little concerned about how it would look with our crib but I eventually talked him into it. So here it is!
We decided not to get the set on Sunday and order it online later on. But I did get the wall hangings that go with it so that I could figure out paint colors. I took a picture of them in Everett's room, they are really cute!
My favorite one is the whale!
That is all for now! I have to go and pack. I am going to Florida with my parents for the week! YAY! Fun in the sun! Poor Andrew has to stay at home!

16 Week Doctor's Visit

I went to the doctor today for my 16 week visit. I finally remembered to bring a book with me and I was really happy that I did because when I walked in the waiting there was a TON of people there. There were ever a few couples in there and everyone knows when you see couples in this kind of doctors office they are usually pregnant. I remember thinking awww...it seems like just yesterday Andrew and I were in here waiting to see our baby for the first time. I really did not wait as long as I thought I was going to have to. Just a few minutes. They took me back and checked my weight (another 4 lbs), checked my blood pressure. I asked them if they could check my iron level because I had been feeling really tired lately so they pricked my finger. They also had to draw some blood for the second part of the genetic birth defects testing (which I did not realize). I hate getting my blood drawn, but luckily the veins cooperated!! I then went back to see the doctor. The doctors office I go to is a team of doctors that you rotate through throughout your pregnancy. So this time I saw a new doctor. He was really nice! I laid down on the table so that he could find Everett's heartbeat. Now if you remember, at my last appointment my doctor had some trouble finding the heartbeat and I more or less freaked out so I was a little nervous about that being the case this time. Well there was no trouble this time! As soon as he put the thing on my belly there was the heartbeat! He said it was beating really fast and was beating at about 160bpm! He asked if we were going to find out the sex of the baby at our next appointment and I told him that we actually already knew. He said,"What is it? A girl?" I guess because the heartbeat was so fast. I said nope it's a boy! I guess our boy just has a fast heartbeat! So he scheduled me for my next appointment in 3 weeks and told me that I can bring a DVD-R in so they can record the session. I think I may do that even though we just got one because Andrew will not be able to be there (he can't get off work). But I am glad that everything seems to be going so well and that our little boy is healthy! Well, that is it for now! I will post some more soon!

It's a boy!!!!

On Friday morning we went to First Glimpse to find out what our little peanut was. Before we got there I drank a whole can of coke which I was hoping would make the baby a little more active because I had not drank ANY caffeine since before I got pregnant. Which I happen to be pretty proud of considering how much of a caffeine freak I was before :). When we got in there we had to fill out some paperwork. Then the lady took us back to the room. It definitely did not look like the ultrasound rooms at the doctor's office. I laid down on the huge bed/table thing and then she put the wand on my belly and there he was! She was moving the wand around trying to get the baby into the right position. She had a bit of a hard time because he was moving around A LOT (I wonder if it was the caffeine hehe). When she finally got him in the right position the cord was going right in between the legs. So she did some 4D pictures for a little while hoping that as much as he was moving around that the cord would move out of the way. The 4D pictures were really cool. You could really see his features and his cute little button nose! At one point he kept putting his hand over his face so that you couldn't see his face. I was like just like my child to get picture shy. During this whole process I kept looking over at Andrew. At one point I looked at him and he just seemed to be watching in amazement. I thought it was really cute. She went back to the 2D and tried to find the babies' sex. The cord was still in the way but she turned on this thing where she could see the blood flowing through the cord. But it didn't matter. I knew whether the cord was there or not that there was a little wee wee there. It was a couple minutes later when she finally confirmed the it was a BOY! After she confirmed we did some more 4D pictures and some more 2D. Before leaving she gave me a sticker that said IT"S A BOY! on it. We then went to the front I got a frame the said "Oh Boy!" on it to put the ultrasound pictures in. The lady printed out some pictures and then made a CD of all of the pictures and also gave me a DVD of the whole session. I thought it was a really great experience and I was so happy that I decided to do it! Here are some pictures from that day

There is a lot of movement going on in there!

With all of the excitement of waiting to find out whether that baby is a boy or a girl I forgot to tell everyone that I started feeling the baby move last week! Andrew did not believe me when I told him at first. He was like "are you sure it is not gas?" That truth is I can see how some people might confuse it with that but it so far is in a different area and feels different. Also I have discovered when you are pregnant that gas HURTS! It started on Tuesday of last week. I was sitting in my chair being really still and then all of a sudden I felt something that can only be described as pop corn popping in my lower belly. As the week progressed I felt it a little more but only when I was sitting really still. With all of the stuff going on with my dad last week and with the ginormous amount of hormones raging through my body I got really upset. That night I felt the baby move around a lot. I was told that might happen though since the baby and I are connected and all. On Friday, Andrew and I were in the car on the way to visit my parents and the baby must have liked it because I did not get the usual pop corn feeling, this time it was more like a worm squirming in my belly. I told Andrew and my parents that the baby was performing acrobatics! Again, I only felt this when I was sitting down. I didn't feel the squirmyness for the rest of the weekend. I think I felt it a little bit yesterday when Andrew and I were at the grocery store but I cannot be for sure. The baby seems to move around the most at night time. Well that is it for now! I am looking forward to the baby's movements getting stronger and Andrew being able to feel it! I know he can't wait either.

Making some progress!

So Andrew and I were at Wal-Mart looking around in the baby section. I saw this blanket and I just could not resist! In case you cannot tell it is yellow and green which can go for either gender and it is a giraffe! Too Cute!!! Andrew gave me the eye when I picked it up and I told him that I didn't care what he said I was buying (haha). I also ordered the baby's crib from Babies-R-Us a couple weeks ago and it arrived on Wednesday last week! I am so excited I cannot wait to put it together and see how it looks in the room. Here is a picture of the crib from the website so you have some idea.
We have also been buying diapers every time we go to the grocery store. I am hoping that maybe by the time the baby gets here we will have enough to last for awhile. I also got a breast pump from my sister this weekend and some baby clothes. They are for a boy but I figure if it is not a boy then I can just box them up and save them for later. But if it is a boy that a few less clothes that I have to buy!

So Friday is the big day! It is the day that we get to hopefully find out what the baby is (providing that he/she cooperates)!!! Andrew and I are really excited. Because the doctor does not actually do another ultrasound until 20 weeks and I am far too impatient to wait that long we are going to the first glimpse place. The ultrasound will mainly be done in 2D but they said that they will do a few in 3D if they get some good positions. I am really looking forward to the experience!

On Friday Andrew and I are leaving to go to Savannah for our first anniversary!!! Whoo Hoo I am so excited! We are going to be gone until Monday! We are planning on eating a lot of good food. Walking around and maybe going to Tybee! Oh and eating some year old wedding cake! I hope it tastes good.

Alright, that is all for now! I will let everyone know on Friday if it is a boy or a girl!

Oh and I forgot the Genetic Birth defects testing came back negative! Whew! Now I guess Andrew can rest easy. :)

Genetic Birth DefectsTesting

My husband the worry wart wanted us to go in and have some type of birth defects testing to look for such things as down syndrome and spinal abifida, which normally me being the person who always like to prepare herself for the worst would have been up for that, but after Andrew suggested that we do it I found myself being optomistic. We have no signs of any of those birth defects in our families and even if our baby had turned out to have one of thoe things we would not have changed our mind about having it anyway. But in order to make him feel better I decided to do it and to make myself feel even better I told myself that ment one more time that I was able see our baby!

So I went in for the testing today. They weighed me and took my blood pressure and then sent me back to the ultrasound room. Turns out they needed to do an ultrasound on my tummy and the other way much to my surprise! We started out doing the test on my tummy and I was so amazed when I first saw our little peanut how much it had grown. It was crazy. As she maneuvered the sonogram thingy around I could see the baby's arms and legs kicking. It's hear beating once again and I saw it flip around and move! It was sooo amazing! At one point she was knocking on my tummy to get peanut to move around and I could see it bouncing up and down. You could also tell that peanut was tired of getting it's picture taken because eventually it stopped cooperating and the ultrasound tech said she thought she may have made peanut mad! Then she went in to do the ultrasound the other way and I saw peanuts skull and some other stuff. She even sent me away with a few pictures!! Much better than the last ones.

For this particular test they were looking for the amount of fluid in peanut's spinal cord behind its neck. They say if there is a large build up of fluid the child is more likely to wind up having a birth defect. The ultrasound tech said that everything looked normal on the ultrasound but they still needed to send the pictures in with some of my blood to make sure. So we are suppose to hear back from them sometime next week to find out for sure. Of course this posting would not be complete without a recent belly picture. Andrew actually asked me if I was poking my belly out in this picture and when I told him no he said, "you swear?!"
You can probably see why he might ask!

Sometimes you just have to put your feet in the sand!

Andrew and I decided to take off for memorial day weekend and go visit my parents' new house in Apalachicola, FL. We had a really great time! We ate a lot (which I enjoyed) and I took a lot of naps (curse of the first trimester). The first thing I told my dad I wanted to do when we got down there was to go to the beach. I wanted to walk on the beach and put my feet in the sand. I also wanted to take Toby to the beach because he had never been before.
Maggie enjoying the water

Toby running away from the water

While we were there I also had to take a picture of my belly so that I could mark this as peanut's first trip to the beach! All in all it was a really great time!

12 week doctors visit

We had our 12 week visit today. It was very fast compared to the last time I went in. I think I was all done in just over thirty minutes! I went back and they checked my weight ( gained 4 pounds....but I am ok with that) and took my blood pressure. Then they took me back to the room to see the doctor. The doctor came in and we talked a little about genetic testing and then he laid me down on the table to get the hearbeat. I had expected for him to find the heartbeat right away. About a minute went by and he hadn't found the heartbeat yet. So of course I start freaking out. He kept hearing a heartbeat but it wasn't the babies it was mine. He said my heart was racing so loudly he couldn't hear the babies. So I tried to calm down. At one point we heard the babies heart beat and mine beating at the same time. It was crazy sounding. He felt a round a little on my belly and tried to get the babies heart beat separated from mine and finally we heard it! He said it was around 160 bpm, which is completely normal. After about five minutes of waiting it was so great to hear that sound of galloping horses I had been to hear. Andrew and I are going to talk about the genetic testing tonight and decide what we are going to do. The doctor wants me to go in sometime next week if I am going to do it. I will let you know what we decide.

The big 2-5!

Well it happened I am now a quarter of a century old. Andrew and I had a cookout at our house to celebrate the occassion. It was interesting to say the least. Considering a week ago Andrew and I did not even have a grill I think it went pretty well. We had about 15 people come over and we made hamburgers and hot dogs. Annie brought pasta salad and 7 layer dip which was wonderful. And Becca made a cake! It was a chocolate cake with cookie and cream icing (mmmmmmmm). I was a little disappointed that it rained yesterday because that ment everyone had a be inside which is difficult when you have all of Andrew's crazy friends over. The rain eventually let up and they were able to go outside and play corn hole. While the rest of us stayed inside and played Rock Band. A few of us took a break to take a crack at playing corn hole. Becca and I won cause we are awesome :)! I was worried that we were going to have too much food but after the boys second trip to the kitchen they cleaned us out!

I finally bought some maternity clothes! Considering none of my pants fit it thought it was definitely time. Angela and I went to the Motherhood store last week and tried a few things on. I bought a couple pairs of pants, a skirt, and some shorts. I also got a couple of shirts but I figured that since most of mine still fit I shouldn't buy too many right now. They also have a fake belly that is suppose to make you look three months further along than you are then to see how your clothes will fit later on. Angela took a few pictures for me so I thought I would share them.

I am going to the doctor on Thursday for my 12 week appointment! I will let all of you know how it goes!

Can you say bump?

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted! The past week or so have been really busy. Between trying to get everything wrapped up at school for the end of the year, Andrew's softball games, and everything else time has gotten away from me! I have also been really tired lately so that has not helped.

On another note, I posted a few weeks ago that I was going to try to remain in my pre-pregnancy clothes as long as I could but here is the thing. None of my pants fit except for the size up pants I bought a few weeks ago. And while I have been wearing my bella band, I did not realize how uncomfortable it would be!! While wearing your pants unbuttoned and sometimes unzipped does help it still feels tight. When my clothes are too tight, evidently the baby does not like it so my uterus begins to cramp, which is not fun! So I think I am going to throw in towel and buy a couple pairs of maternity pants and maybe then I can be comfortable! I hate being uncomfortable!

Andrew and I took a pitcture this morning and as I thought there is definate bumpage there! I did not think that at nine weeks it would look this way but I guess people pop differently! As far as the pregnancy symptoms go...I have had no morning sickness!!! YAY!!!! I have had some cramping as mentioned before, my breasts are definately bigger :(, and I have detected some signs of moodiness. Unfortunately my students have been getting the biggest blunt of it. I have been working on it but it seems the more they don't listen the worse it gets. The girls also love to hold my hands and rub on my shoulders and I have not wanted them to do that lately either, which is weird. I am hoping it will get better soon!
Oh and I have been having some cravings lately. The first thing is I have been wanting a cookie for weeks. It didn't matter what kind of cookie it was and I just wanted one big cookie with milk! The other craving has been peanut butter crakers. Which is weird for me because I do not really like peanut butter that much!

Oh and I got all of my hair chopped off. I guess in a way preparing myself my mommy hood! I donated 12 inches to locks of love and I am really happy with how it turned out and it is so much cooler and easier to deal with!

1st Doctor's Appointment

Andrew and I went to the doctor today! I was a complete nervous wreck all day but I think I did a pretty good job containing it! We got to the doctor at 2 and they took us right back to do our ultrasound. We went in and the lady told me to get undressed. I laid down on the table thinking please let it be there, please let it be there. She stuck the thing in and went a little to the right and there it was! Our little peanut. We got to look at it for a couple minutes and listen to the heart beat. It was so amazing! It sounded like galloping horses. I even saw the heart going up in down in what will be the baby's chest! The ultrasound tech said it was a very strong heart beat! I was one of those things that makes you think that there is no way this is real but it is all at the same time.

After we got done with the ultrasound I went to go have my weight and blood pressure checked. All looked good the I had blood drawn which I hate! My veins just suck! After she finally found a vein the blood started coming out and then it just stopped so she had to move it around to make it bleed again which hurt. But five minutes later it was finally done. After they they sent me out to the waiting room to wait on the girl to take our history. Thirty minutes later she finally got to us we went back and talked about the things that had happened to me and anything in Andrew and I's family history. Then she gave me some prenatal samples and The What to Expect Book and some pamphlets and a magazine.

She then sent us back out to the waiting room to wait for Dr. Barnes. We waited and waited and waited some more and then FINALLY and hour later they called us back. He told us I was 7 weeks 6 days and that I am due Dec. 4th! We talked about any questions we might have. He then did my physical to make sure everything was ok and told me that I was definitely growing. Today made this whole thing so much more real for me! Our next appt. has been scheduled for May 21st which will put me at around 12 weeks. So I am looking forward to it!
